Mosaic is a digital workflow platform purpose-built for private equity deal teams and investment banks, delivering AI-enabled deal modelling that is 20x faster than Excel while maintaining complete accuracy. Its cloud-native platform combines a generative AI interface with deterministic software to produce hallucination-free DCF models, LBO models, and private markets analysis.
The company was founded by Ian Gutwinski after a decade in private equity, investment banking, and accounting. Ian built the first version of Mosaic at MIT, where he was cross-registered during his MBA at Harvard Business School. The prototype was intended to accelerate his own work at Onex, but an HBS classmate’s interest in Mosaic for their PE firm’s use led to the company’s founding and its first top-tier PE customer.
